About Upper Bermudian
Lutheran Church

Welcome to Ground Oak!

Please walk through our church doors as part of your faith journey, as many have done since 1782. Ground Oak is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. We gather to worship God and his Son, Jesus Christ, and to support each other in faith, showing God’s love to others.

The Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church continues today as a place of worship for the community. We welcome all who wish to worship here, and be supported in their Faith. Though many changes have occurred over the years, the Church remains a House of the Lord – Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow.

Happy Easter 2019!

Memorial Day Service, May 26, 2019

Each year Ground Oak provides a moving and respectful Memorial Day service to honor our Parish veterans who served in wars, starting with the Revolutionary War up to the Vietnam War. The service bulletin can be read here.

The Roll Call of Veterans from both Mt. Zion and Ground Oak can be read here.

“In my Father’s Hands”

In 2018, the sculpture, “In my Father’s Hands” was created for Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church by Curt Eger. It was carved from an old oak tree that needed to be removed, and was a beautiful way to preserve part of the tree. A dedication ceremony was held in the parking lot where the sculpture stands.
